Another attempt at song lyrics (first draft)...

Did you know you were my first kill?

I hunted you for years

I crossed the ocean seven times

to worship at your gate

You threw me crumbs from your high tower

With bloody knees I knelt

and licked them up, one by one

I would have been your slave until the grave

Tie me up and take me home

Tie me up to release me

I was born into insanity

Tie me up to make me free

But the gate was never opened

And the crumbs, they all turned stale

The beast in me was choking, so I had to let him out

I watched my demons take you

down by the river at night

They baptized you in secret, they kissed you with their light

Tie me up and take me home

Tie me up to release me

I was born into insanity

Tie me up to make me free

It was in the shadows where I loved you most –

when I could see your scars up close

You were too beautiful not to slay

and waltz with in my arms

I watched you take your last breath

and the crumbs turned into meals

I feasted on your body

I drank your blood like wine

I sang to you a sweet song

about death and the divine

Tie me up and take me home

Tie me up to release me

I was born into insanity

Tie me up to make me free

Patience for the Flowering: Letting our true selve...
Holding on to the light

I love it Hannah! Fiery and chilling at the same time.
Have you heard of the new tv program starting soon which features song writers showcasing their own songs and naming whom they would want to have sing their song. Who would you like to hear sing your song? It would have to be someone totally worthy, no featherweights need apply.

I was once upon a time immersed in the Vampire Chronicles....your song reminded me of that pleasure

Thank you Jan!! I hadn't heard of that tv show...sounds very cool! What a great question...Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Tom Waits or Nick Cave. I'm hoping Michael will like it and want to work on it...haven't shared it with him yet. I LOVED the Vampire Chronicles!! xo

I like Tom Waits too. I don''t know Nick Cave's music. I was thinking Leonard Cohen until I remembered that he has died.

That is a beautiful song, very dear. Thank you for introducing me to Nick Cave. It is wonderful that Michael and you can create music together. I m happy for you two. I was fantasizing about a simple app that could conjure a hologram image of an artist like Nick Cave or Leonard Cohen or someone else and insert the words of a song into that hologram and hear the way it would sound.

Hannah, your lyrics are galvanizing, stirring something bloodthirsty within. Shivers! Keep writing, pleaseplease!
(And loved the Nick Cave song--thanks!)
