For You and Not You (a spoken poem)

​The ache for you is terrible tonight
Were I wolf born, the howl, the cry in the dark would bring tears to your own eyes
Would hit into your own empty stomach and the empty stomach of the world
I breathe and let the longing live in silence
In the silence I know that it is for you and not you
To feel your hand press my lips so that it may meet the wet inside
To know your bite along the inside of my thigh
To find you behind your eyes
In the silence I know that it is for you and not you
To touch and be touched by something past the limits of my skin – even the air
For the inside of me to be known by the outside –
for the outside to be known by my inside
The ache for you is terrible tonight
I will wait here, in the silence, for you and not you
