Who can become a Creatrix?

This site is for women who are actively committing to their creativity. You must be 18 years or older. This site is for all humans who identify as women.

How do I become a Creatrix?

Just go to the Become a Creatrix page (on the top menu) and follow the steps to sign up for the plan of your choice! Make sure to read about what it means to be a Creatrix and what is being asked of you.

How old do I have to be to become a member?

Due to potential mature content on the site, you must be 18 years or older to become a member. If you are younger than 18, please send us an email. If we get enough interest, Creatrix Kids could be in the future!

Why are there 2-6 creations required for each month?

There is a minimum of 2 creations per month in order to hold you accountable to your commitment to your creativity. There is a maximum of 6 to place more importance on what you choose to post and also to make sure that everyone gets seen.

What happens if I don't post at least 2 creations per month?

By signing up for the site, you are committing to posting 2 creations a month. You have made a commitment to your creativity and you are paying for membership. You are also choosing to be part of an active community. If you don't post 2 times per month, we will reach out and see what's up. If there's a major life issue going on, we'll figure something out.

What do I do if I forget my username and/or password?

Go to the Login page under the Members Only dropdown menu. Click on "Forgot your username?" or "Forgot your password?" Enter your email address, and instructions will be sent to you.

How do I edit my profile?

Once you are logged in, go to My Membership/Edit My Profile on the Members Only dropdown menu. This is where you can upload your profile picture and write/edit your biography.

What does it mean if I get an email that someone has "subscribed" to me?

You will be notified if someone subscribes to your specific creations. As a subscriber, they will receive an email each time you post your work to the site. If the subscriber is not a Creatrix, they will not get notified about any private posts you choose to make (only Creatrices can see those). You will be given their name when they subscribe to you. If, for whatever reason, you would prefer them not to be subscribed to your posts, just let us know at hannah@creatrix.gallery, and we will remove them.

Guests and Creatrices are also able to subscribe to the site as a whole or to a specific category (Writing, Painting/Drawing, etc.). Again, no private posts can be viewed by anyone other than your fellow Creatrices.

How do I post in the Forum?

Make sure you are logged in as a Creatrix. Go to "Forum" under the Members Only dropdown menu. Read the "Welcome to the Forum!" email that has been posted in the "Messages from the Administrator" category. Instructions on how to post in the Forum and also how to have private, one-to-one conversations with other Creatrices are detailed there.

What's the easiest way to collaborate with another Creatrix?

In the private Forum there is a subcategory called "Collaboration" under the category "The Creative Process." You can post any general requests/ideas here for collaboration. Also in the Forum, there is the option to have a private conversation with another Creatrix. See the "Message from the Administrator" in the Forum for instructions on how to do this.

Can I see when I will be charged next?

Yes. Login and go to the Members Only dropdown menu. Go to "My Membership/Manage My Membership." Midway down the page you will see when your next payment will occur.

If you click on the "More" button (in red, with a down-pointing arrow), you can click on "Invoices" to see a list of all past recurring charges. You will automatically be emailed an invoice each month once you have been charged.

What do I do if I need to edit my payment info and/or change plans?

If you need to change your payment details for monthly billing or you'd like to switch plans (from Assisted Posting to Self Posting, or the other way around), you need to cancel your current subscription. If you paid via PayPal, login to your PayPal account and cancel the recurring payment. If you paid with a credit card, login to Creatrix and go to "My Membership/Manage My Membership" on the Members Only dropdown menu. Under your subscription listing, on the right-hand side, you will see the word "More" with a down-pointing arrow. Click this. You will see "If you want to cancel this subscription, please click here: Cancel." Go ahead and click on "Cancel."

Your current membership will expire at the end of your current billing cycle once you have cancelled it. Until that time, you will be able to login and participate on Creatrix as usual. You will receive a cancellation email when the billing cylce is over and your membership has expired. At this time, you can login to the site with your usual credentials (it is important that you use the same credentials you've always used when you sign up again) and you will be prompted to "Subscribe to a Plan." Sign up again with a new credit card and/or choose a different plan. Your old posts will remain on the site, and your biography will be reinstated. If you have any questions at all, just contact us!

How do I cancel my monthly membership?

If you paid for your membership via PayPal, login to your PayPal account and cancel the recurring payment.

Cancelling your subscription means that you will no longer be automatically charged each month. You will retain access to the site until the next billing date. After that date, you will no longer be able to login as a Creatrix. Your biography (under Meet the Creatrices) will be removed from the site. You will have the option to keep your creations on the site, or you can have them temporarily or permanently removed. You will no longer be able to post on the site, but you will always be able to visit and comment on the other creations along with the rest of the public.

If you decide to return as a Creatrix at some point after cancelling, you can resubscribe with the same credentials and your biography/old posts can be reinstated (as long as you did not request to have them permanently removed).

Posting Your Creations

How do I post a creation?

If you have a Self Posting Membership, you must be logged in to post. Go to the Members Only drop down menu and choose "Post a New Creation." All instructions on how to post various kinds of creations can be found on the same drop down menu under "How to Post."

If you have an Assisted Posting Membership, simply email your creation to hannah@creatrix.gallery, and your post will appear on the site asap.

How do I edit a creation once it has been published?

Find the post you want to edit and click on the pencil icon next to your name. You will be given 3 options: Edit Post, Unpublish Post, and Trash. If you want to take the post off the site for now, click Unpublish. If you want to delete the post, click Trash. To make changes to the post, click Edit Post. Once you have finished, click Update Post. More detailed instructions can be found at the bottom of the How to Post page.

How can I see all of my creations in one place (including drafts, etc.)?

Login and go to the Members Only dropdown menu. Click on "My Creations" and you will see two options: "Published" and "My Dashboard." Published will show you all of your creations that are able to be seen by others on the site. If you go to My Dashboard, you can search for all of your posts including unpublished, drafts, and trashed creations. In the "Select Filter" dropdown, just choose which type of post you'd like to search for. More detailed instructions about this can be found at the bottom of the How to Post page.

What does it mean to unpublish vs. trash a post?

Choosing to unpublish a post means that you are removing it from view on the site. You still have access to it in order to work on it, etc. If you trash a post, you are, in essence, deleting it with no intention of working on it again/saving it. You will still have access to your trashed posts for some time, but the trash will be periodically emptied.

Can I start working on a post but come back to finish it later before publishing?

Yes! Instead of clicking on "Publish Post" choose "Save Draft." You can always access your drafts by going to the Members Only dropdown menu/My Creations/My Dashboard. Choose to sort your creations by "drafts."

Can I create a post but set it to publish at a later date/time?

Yes. When you are working on your creation template, you will see on the right-hand panel (under "Post," with the pencil icon) a field that says "Publish Date." Click on the calendar icon and choose the date and time you would like your creation to be posted. Then click on "Save Draft." Do not click on "Publish Post." Your post is all scheduled to be published at your chosen time.

What do I do if I have trouble posting?

If you have a Self Posting Membership and you run into a problem while posting, just email hannah@creatrix.gallery. You can also check the Forum under "Site Issues" and see if anyone has already run across the same issue(s). You can always save a draft of your creation (without it showing up on the site) to make sure that your work is not lost.

Who can see my work if I post on the site?

The site is public, so anyone who visits can see your creations, unless you opt to do a private post. If you'd like to do a private post, simply choose "viewable by registered members only" as opposed to the default "viewable by all users" in the Post Visability drop down menu.

How do I post so only Creatrices can see and not the public?

If you'd like to do a private post, simply choose "viewable by registered members only" as opposed to the default "viewable by all users" in the Post Visability dropdown menu. That post will show up for only the other Creatrices to see.

Do I get notified when someone comments on my creation?

Yes! You will receive an email whenever there is a comment posted on your creation. Comments made by guests to the site are moderated by the administrator, while comments made by fellow creatrices are not.

Is my work copyrighted?

Content you create and post on Creatrix is seen by other members and the public. As the creator of your own work, you are responsible for enforcing your own copyright and Creatrix is not responsible if your work is used or reproduced by others.

Can I use an image in my post that is not my own?

If, for example, you want to post a piece of writing and you'd like to include an image that you did not create, just make sure you have permission to use the image. There are a number of sites that offer free pictures. For example:

Pixabay

Wikimedia Commons

You can also purchase images online from sites like 123RF or ShutterStock.

Another option could be to reach out to the other Creatrices on the Forum (in the collaboration category or the painting/drawing or photography threads) to see if they have any images of what you're looking for.

General

How do I comment on a creation?

Open the creation and scroll down the page to the comments area. Please be aware that the Creatrix may have indicated what type of feedback she would like to receive (either within her post or in the comments). If you are logged in as a Creatrix, type your comment and click the box next to "I have read the Terms and Conditions." Click "Submit Your Comment." If you are not logged in as a Creatrix, you will be asked to fill in your name, click the box next to Terms and Conditions, and fill in the captcha. As a guest, your comment will be approved by the moderator before it is posted.

Can I be notified when new creations are posted to the site?

Yes. You can subscribe to the whole site, a category or categories of creations (i.e. writing, painting/drawing, photography, etc.), or to particular Creatrices.

To get notified when ANY new creation is posted to the site, go to the Creations menu and choose All Categories. Click on "Subscribe to Creations." Fill in your name and email address and you will receive an email when there's a new creation posted. You can unsubscribe at any time through that email notification (click on "unsubscribe here").

In order to subscribe to a specific category only, pick the category from the Creations dropdown menu. Click on the envelope icon below the category name. Fill in your name and email and click "Subscribe." You will be notified via email whenever there is a new creation posted in that category. You can unsubscribe at any time through that email notification (click on "unsubscribe here").

To be notified whenever a particular Creatrix posts a creation, go to Meet the Creatrices in the main menu. Click on the envelope icon below the Creatrix's name. Fill in your name and email and click "Subscribe." You will receive an email when this Creatrix has posted anything new. You can unsubscibe at any time through the email notification (click on "unsubscribe here").

Please keep in mind that not all creations will be available to the public. A Creatrix can choose to do a private post, only to be seen by the other Creatrices. In this case, you will not get notified of this private post if you subscribed to that Creatrix, category, or the site, but are not a Creatrix yourself.

Why are there some creations posted by Creatrices who are not on the "Meet the Creatrices" list?

The Creatrices listed on the "Meet the Creatrices" page are currently active members. If a Creatrix cancels her membership, she will be removed from this list but will have the option of whether or not she keeps her work posted on the site.

What are some potential future goals/offerings/commitments of the site?

Interviews (audio and/or video) for members with teachers/guides around different aspects of creativity (i.e., resistance, meditation, creativity on a cosmic level, creative emptiness, creative space, creativity as a healing practice, etc.).

Videos of practices for members to help them come more into their bodies and breath in order to access deeper levels of creativity.

In person events/workshops for Creatrices.

The ability to contribute a higher percentage of monthly dues to the Global Impact (donations) portion of Creatrix.

More goodies for the store—teeshirts, mugs, pens, etc.

Is there a Creatrix Facebook page?

Yes! You can find it here. The FB page is a place for creative inspiration for both men and women (supporters of Creatrix) and will be used as a reminder for followers to come check out the Creatrix site when there are new posts. By design, there is not a direct link to post or share creations on the site to FB.

Is Creatrix GDPR compliant?

Yes. This site complies with the new European regulations for the protection of information collected from European residents. Members may download the personal information that we store connected to their membership on the "Edit My Profile" page. See the Privacy Policy link at the bottom of each page for more detailed information on how we protect the site, etc.
